Easter, an important Christian holiday celebrating Jesus’ resurrection, falls between late March and late April each year. Secularly, the Easter Bunny plays a central role in this holiday, for Christians and non-Christians alike. You may be stocking up with chocolate or marshmallow bunnies, Easter eggs, Peeps, and jelly beans, but don’t forget to make lunchtime fun for this holiday as well!

Mix it up
Keep some variety going through the week leading up to or after Easter. Have some plastic eggs that used to hold Easter candy? Re-use them for some lunchtime fun:
- Buy enough lunch options for the week, including main courses, sides, drinks and snacks.
- Select a color for each component of your lunch, and fill five eggs of that color with a slip of paper with a different option. For example, yellow eggs will be main courses, pink eggs a side, white eggs a drink.
- Every evening, your child can pick one of each color for the next day’s lunch, which is sure to make each lunch day a unique and fun one!
A lunchtime treat
Each day you pack your lunch, include a pint-sized chocolate bunny for a sweet finish. Chocolate not your thing? There’s also malted milk balls, jelly beans, or other sweet confections from the bulk foods section of your grocery store.
