More about Amy and Scott Dawson, creators of Lunchtaker.com: One of our core focuses is on nutrition and fitness. We watched the latest episode with our kids last night (ironically, as we were enjoying our own stir fry!). The flash mob scene was really cool (and we got to teach the kids what a flash mob was), but the most inspirational television we’ve seen in a long time was Jamie’s winning over of the local deejay: an excellent way to win over skeptics is to show them how obesity affects real people. We’re looking forward to the rest of the series!
I couldn’t believe the kids didn’t know the vegetables, even the obvious ones. But when I saw the freezer full of frozen pizzas, I guess I’m more surprised that we’d expect that they would know what fresh foods were!!
I watched it too and haven’t shown my girls the chicken nugget thing yet. I did realize that we haven’t really involved the kids enough in dinner making. Will be doing that more for sure.
I was appalled that the kids chose to eat the nasty chicken parts even though they knew what was in it – I did the same test with my kids and the recorded show…They said they would eat it too. This just enforces my vow to make seeds of change in my home.
