Knight Rose Productions, LLC Launches Lunchtaker.com to Promote Healthy Eating
TRUMANSBURG, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Knight Rose Productions, LLC launched Lunchtaker.com, a site dedicated to helping promote healthy eating. Lunchtaker offers hundreds of ideas for healthy lunch foods, which registered users can combine into their own lunch combinations. In addition to suggested lunch combinations, the site contains an innovative lunch food "lottery" that provides users with entertaining random combinations. It also contains articles and discussion groups to help users connect with each other and share their ideas about healthful eating.
"We came up with the idea for this site when our daughter entered Kindergarten," says Amy Dawson, who runs Knight Rose Productions with her husband, Scott. "Until then, we had enjoyed eating lunch together at our kitchen table. Suddenly, we entered the 'World of the Lunchbox'. We started thinking about everything, from what to pack to how to be environmentally conscious with how we packed it."
Their children helped match foods to letters, resulting in the site’s A-Z listing. You can also search for items by food type, vegan or dairy-free classification, color and nutritional value.
"It was critical for us to reflect nutritional values on the site," says Scott Dawson. "It's important to know what we're putting into our bodies. We feel the ability to group items and know if a lunch is calorically heavy, or is lacking protein, will be especially useful. In addition to being a great source of inspiration, we hope the site helps educate visitors about the good, healthy foods."
Lunchtaker can help people get more creative in planning their lunches, for themselves or for their school-age children. You can register for free, and then create and save different lunch combinations. The community will grow over time, too, as registered users can add their own lunch items to the site and opt to share them with other users.
Among the hundreds of items, there is certainly a variety. You'll find a range from PB&J and BLTs, to baby carrots and edamame. The editors note, "Our goal is not to focus on any one niche, but to provide a breadth that a variety of people will find useful."
Visit Lunchtaker online at http://www.lunchtaker.com. You can register for free and take advantage of special features, like adding your own lunch items, adding comments to other lunch items, and saving your own lunch combinations.
